Meta Platform Data, Advertising, and Communications
Ironrod Steel Co. operates an internal business automation tool that integrates with Meta’s Graph API (Facebook and Instagram) for the sole purpose of managing Ironrod Steel Co.’s own Facebook Page, Instagram Business account, advertising account, and customer communications. This section describes how that integration handles data.
What Meta data we access
- Posts, comments, and engagement metrics on Ironrod Steel Co.’s own Facebook Page and Instagram Business account.
- Messages sent to us through Facebook Messenger and Instagram Direct Messages from people who have contacted us.
- Performance metrics, audience insights, and cost data for advertising campaigns we run on our own Meta Ads account.
- Lead form submissions from our own Meta Lead Ads.
What we do with it
- Respond to customer inquiries received via Messenger and Instagram DMs.
- Measure and improve the performance of our own advertising campaigns.
- Manage and schedule organic content on our own Facebook Page and Instagram account.
- Maintain customer records for steel orders and quotes.
What we do NOT do
- We do not access data from any Facebook Page, Instagram account, or ad account that is not owned by Ironrod Steel Co.
- We do not sell, rent, or share customer information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
- We do not use Meta data for any purpose other than operating Ironrod Steel Co.’s business.
Data retention
We retain customer inquiry and order information only as long as reasonably necessary for our business records and tax compliance, generally no more than seven years.
Data deletion requests
To request deletion of your personal data, including any messages you have sent us through Facebook or Instagram, email rod@ironrodsteel.com with the subject line “Data Deletion Request”. We will confirm receipt and complete deletion within 30 days.
